Kevin Hart

Published on

Despite his height of just five-foot-four, renowned comedian and Philadelphian Kevin Hart uses his larger-than-life personality to command attention. With his cartoonish controversies and candid comedic views on love and life, Hart has been elevated into one of the most statuesque funny guys of our time.

Growing up in a single parent home with his mother, Hart's upbringing was marked by adversity and difficulties. As a coping mechanism, Hart found solace in using humor to deal with his father’s battle with cocaine addiction and the trauma his father’s absence and frequent incarcerations left on him. From those experiences, Hart developed a frank take on life and love and has been open about his father's journey to recovery and their renewed relationship. Hart has continued to use his life experiences and insecurities as material for his comedy, often using his own unique brand of humor to make light of difficult situations.

In his professional life, Hart has also faced hardships as his lockdown-era special, Zero F**ks Given caused unexpected controversy on social media (but nevertheless went viral). True to stance, Hart took those previous missteps and has remained an influential figure in the entertainment industry, captivating audiences with his humor and using his voice to advocate for positive change. Hart’s latest tour, “Reality Check,” is reported to be coming on strong in form, absurdities and hard hitting laughs as Reality Check has been crowned the top comedy tour of 2022 by Billboard and has earned him the People's Choice Award for Best Comedy Act of 2022.

With a celebrated and award-winning career Hart feels grateful, "I couldn't ask for a better road. I get paid to make people laugh, and within that world I can actually say that it's going above and beyond expectations. I didn't expect to be in the situation that I'm in at this point in my career. Granted that I'm here now, it's amazing,” Hart told me.

Hart is expected to bring his standup energy to Augusta, GA for his first tour since 2018, delivering a set of self-mockery and dismay at bizarre behavior with Reality Check and will perform at the Bell Auditorium on June 15. This event will be a device-free experience. Use of phones and smart watches will not be permitted in the performance space. Upon arrival at the venue, devices will be secured in individual Yondr pouches that will be opened at the end of the event.
